Kratom Dosage

Kratom Dosage

Kratom dosage is the amount of kratom you need to consume for you to feel the effects. The dosage is different for everyone so this article is dedicated to helping you find it.

Some people quit on kratom because they don’t feel anything from it. Sometimes it is because their body just doesn’t respond to kratom and most of the time it’s because they aren’t taking the correct dosage to feel something from it.

If you have been taking kratom and you felt extremely tired or nauseous, we would consider that  a good thing because your body does respond to kratom but you probably took too much and you went over your dosage.

If you take kratom in medium (2-3 grams) to high (5-7 grams), and you don’t feel anything, then that would most likely mean that

  1. The quality of the kratom sucks
  2. You don’t respond well to those strains
  3. Or Kratom just doesn’t work for you.

Now we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves and decide that kratom doesn’t work for us until we experiment with it for awhile.

This is how you should experiment to find your dosage the safe way:

Step 1  first you take .5 or 1 gram of kratom

Step 2 if you don’t feel anything after 10 -15 minutes then take another .5 grams

Step 3 repeat step 2 until you feel something

If you still don’t feel anything don’t give up. You can call it a day for today but tomorrow try the experiment again.

Another way you can do it is to  (not so safe but faster)

Step 1 takes the standard dosage which is 2 to 2.5 grams.

Step 2 if you feel something and it feels good, congratulations, you have just found your sweet spot.

If step 2 fails and you felt nauseous, call it a day, lay down and sleep, and take a smaller dosage the next day.

Tips

don’t try to concentrate hard on whether you feel the effects or not. Just go along with your business and you should notice it sooner or later.

It’s really hard for beginners to point out whether or not they are feeling anything from the kratom until they have taken it for a while. Once  they have taken it for a while, their kratom IQ will go up and they will be able to point out exactly when the effects hit.

Conclusion

I know that we have a talk about this topic many times in our past articles and videos, but we wanted this topic to be its own separate post. This will make it easier to find and navigate to.

Don’t give up, if you don’t feel anything from kratom the first time you use it. It might take a while for your body to get used to so keep trying it for at least a week before you throw in the towel.

If all else fails then there are alternatives to kratom that are equal or even stronger in effects that you may like.

cold turkey

If you’ve ever built a high tolerance to kratom, to the point where it just didn’t work for you anymore, then you’ll understand the title.

The term “cold turkey” is used when someone who have built quite a high tolerance to Kratom, and has to go off of it for a week or two.

Now getting off of kratom can be hard for some people because they rely on it too much, or they are addicted to the feeling that it gives, but I want to show you that there are alternatives to using Kratom while going cold turkey.

These alternative will help your break from Kratom much easier.

If all else fail then we’ll find another way, or you may just have to suck it up for a week.

Stem & Vein

Stem and vein are the parts producers take off of the kratom leaf when they grind it into powder form. The stem and veins aren’t as potent as the leaf but they still work.

It takes a lot more for the effects to kick in.

Now the great thing about Stem&Vein is that it is one of the best thing to take when you’re off kratom. You can take this for a whole week straight while going off kratom and it will help lower your tolerance.

It comes in handy to have a 4 oz bag of this at home whenever we go off of kratom.

The taste isn’t like the regular kratom powder that you are used to. It tastes kind of like clay if have ever tried it as a kid.

I recommend taking double or slightly a little more than your Kratom dosage.

This is a lot of powder so you might want to put them in capsules to make it easier to consume.

Phenibut

Phenibut is a white powder that is consumed for lowering anxiety. This is very powerful if you want to reduce anxiety.

Another effect of phenibut is calmness, and it may also make music sound a lot better too.

This is very great for going out into social events.

The bad thing about this is probably a lack of concentration from my experience.

To take it you should start with .5 to 1 gram every two hours until you feel the effects.

In total three grams is all that you will need to get the maximum effects of phenibut. If you get the effect before 3 grams, then stop there, you don’t need anymore.

If you take more than you sweet spot for phenibut, it will probably make you sleepy, lethargic, or dizzy.

It takes about three to five hours for the effects to kick in so you have to take it ahead of time.

The taste of phenibut is probably one of the worst things you could ever experience. Compared to kratom this has got to be 10 times worse.

I recommend mixing this with flavored BCAA to mask the taste. The flavored BCAA will mask the taste but it will be sort of sour.

This is a pretty good alternative to Kratom if you want the lowering anxiety part, but be cautious because this one is powerful.

The effects are much stronger and if you take too much, you will feel extremely tired and nauseous so do not operate a vehicle when you take this.

I also recommend that you only take this once or twice a week.

Kava Extract and Powder

Now kava, in my opinion is the best option when you want to get off of kratom. If you have ever tried kava it is kind of like kratom but the effects that it gives is sort of different.

You get kind of like a buzz from this and a little bit of calmness and confidence.

To be safe, do not operate a vehicle while taking this because it’s similar to a buzz from alcohol.

You can get this online which is an extract and much better quality, or you can get it off the counter supplements which is a little lower quality and it comes in pill form.

I’ve only tried the off the counter Kava and the dosage for me is around 10 – 12 pills.

What I’ve noticed from this is that it makes your tolerance to kratom go down really quickly.

I was on it for only two days and when I went back to kratom, my receptors were refreshed.

It usually takes me about five to seven days to refresh my receptors, but it only took two days when I was on kava.

So out of the three options, I say this is the best option when you decide to go cold turkey.

Last Option

If you do not have the option to take any of these alternative then my best advice for you is to let someone you trust hold on to the kratom.

By doing it this way, the Kratom isn’t flaunting itself at you with great temptations.

You will also know that they are safe for when you are ready after the week.

For me, I would always leave my kratom at my parents house before I head out to college for the week.

This gave me no way to get my kratom unless I was willing to make the drive back home.

When I was off of kratom for 2 days straight, it was pretty much off of my mind for the whole week or even more depending on how long I was staying at my college apartment.

When I came back home, my receptors were refreshed and I was good to go again.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that these alternatives cannot be rotated so expect your tolerance for these alternatives to go up while Kratom tolerance  goes down.

You’ll only have to take these for a week and your kratom receptors should be refreshed and ready to go.

In my honest opinion, Phenibut should be the last option because the effects that it gives is very strong compared to Kratom.

You should take phenibut only 1 – 2 times a week. I personally don’t like the feeling on phenibut, but I’ve heard that it’s been great for other people.

My first option would be to get stem and vein because it’s the safest route, then I would consider trying kava and phenibut.

If you feel like you can endure the cold turkey week without them, then I say good luck to you, sir/mam!

Bad Temper & Anxiety

Kratom Problems

This side effect happens to some people such as myself. The three ways that I know how to fix this problem . You must have the correct dosage, you can drink water and take a nap, or you can take phenibut.

Now I’ve already talked about the correct dosage in part 1 so you won’t talk about it.

The second way is to take a nap and rehydrate yourself. A lot of the moodiness that you get from kratom is because you are dehydrated so drink a lot of water and you should feel better. Then take a nap for 15 – 30 mins and your good to go.

Your’e probably wondering what is phenibut?

Phenibut is another product that is sold at Happy Hippo. This nootropic will completely make you lose all of your anxiety and it will make you extremely calm.

You will feel very calm and the effects last for hours, but the only problem with this is that the effects takes 5 hours to kick in.

The anxiety and bad temper will last only a while and after that you have to realize that it’s just a state of mind that you are in.

Short Lasting Effects

To deal with the short lasting effects you can do two things which will help tremendously.

The first thing is to not eat anything when you have just consumed Kratom. For some reason the effects start to die out real quick after you eat a meal. My general rule is to not eat until after one hour of taking Kratom.

The second thing is sip on a little bit of water every few minutes. Staying hydrated is essential when you’re taking Kratom.

For some people, Kratom makes them feel dehydrated so they would already have to drink a lot of water.

For me this really helps the effects last a bit longer, and I recommend everyone to do this because not only does it help with the Kratom’s effect, it is also a necessity for your body to stay hydrated.

Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

High Tolerance

For the high tolerance what you want to do is get off of kratom for a week to freshen up your receptors.

It is best if you don’t even build a tolerance to Kratom at all.

While you are off Kratom you can take Hippo S & V which will give you the effects of Kratom while lowering your tolerance.

We have an article dedicated to this topic called “Importance Of Rotating and Tolerance To Kratom.”

Conclusion

We believe that most of your Kratom problems can be avoided if you have the right dosage. This will take some experimenting to find your sweet spot. Don’t worry it won’t take too long, and you’ll be better off not running into these problems in the first place.

These side effects are as bad as it’s going to get for Kratom so don’t think that Kratom will give you any serious health risk.

Kratom is very safe in our experience. Give HappyHippo a visit if you’re looking to buy Kratom.

We’ve been using it for almost 2 years now and we’ve never been healthier.

Once you gain more experience with Kratom, you will have a much more fulfilling life.

Until next time guys,

Some Kratom problems that we have encountered in our experiences have been

  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Bad Temper & Anxiety
  • Short Lasting Effects
  • High Tolerance

And all of these problems can be pinpointed to either overdosing or being inexperienced.

This is why we emphasize the importance of finding the right dosage that works for you!

Now, I know I don’t have the exact cure for all of these problems, but I do want to share my experience and how I deal with them.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO BEFORE TAKING KRATOM

If you are new to Kratom then the number one thing you should do is to first find your sweet spot. This can be done by starting at .5 grams of Kratom.

If the .5 grams doesn’t hit for you after 15 minutes then take another .5 grams. You want to keep adding the half gram after every 15 minutes until you feel the effects.

Once you find your sweet spot, take note of this number because this will be the amount you always take when you consume Kratom. Keep in mind that certain strains require a different amount to achieve the effects.

Fast strains might take fewer amounts to consume than slow strains.

This will solve almost all of the issues with Kratom that we will discuss in this article.

Kratom Problems

Kratom Nausea & Upset Stomach

For this problem, we have been treating it with yogurt.

My Brother Ben did not respond well to Kratom and he would have upset stomach and cause, but I, on the other hand, responded very well to Kratom and I owe it all to eating yogurt. Back then I worked out  and followed the fitness lifestyle religiously.

This meant that I watched my diet a lot (tracking macronutrients and all that stuff) and one of the things that I had in my diet when I was bulking and even when I was cutting was yogurt.

I would eat a bit every day for a whole year and I believe that this really helped my digestive system.

My cousin who also did not respond well to Kratom had upset stomach and nausea from it, which caused him to throw up a lot. (he doesn’t respond well to fast strains)

I gave him some yogurt and he told me that it made him feel a lot better. He no longer felt nauseous and could feel the effects of Kratom.

We also have a youtube channel where I recommended eating yogurt for this same problem to the viewers and some have agreed that this has also helped them a lot.

Kratom Problems

People who are new to Kratom, who overdosed on Kratom, or have gotten back into it after a week of going cold turkey will usually have this problem.

When you feel like crashing after taking Kratom there are only a few things you can do to get rid of this problem.

You can drink a cup of coffee if you really want to stay awake. This is what I would usually do when I overdosed.

But if you do feel tired, it is best to just take a nap. When I say taking a nap, that doesn’t mean to sleep for an hour or more.

It is more like a short nap. You will have an alarm on your phone timing you for 15 – 30 minutes of sleep. This is a good amount because it doesn’t leave you feeling groggy when you wake up and you will feel rejuvenated.

Rest assured that this problem won’t always happen. Once you take Kratom for a decent amount of times (2 weeks or more), your body will adapt and you won’t feel tired anymore.

Before we dive into this topic, if you don’t know what Kratom is, check out the guide here.

Best Time To Consume Kratom

Consuming Kratom at the right time is very important if you want to get the strongest effect.

During my first week of starting Kratom, I wasn’t too aware or concern that there was a specific time that you were supposed to take it. There were many times when I took Kratom and didn’t feel anything from it and wondered if this was a waste of money, so I searched the web for advice.

What I found was that the effect of Kratom hits harder when you’re on an empty stomach. [click to continue…]
