Last part we talked about what you can use Kratom for in specific situations (Part 3). In this part, we will discuss some of the Kratom Side Effects.

Kratom is awesome, but there are some bad sides to it when beginners are just starting out. Luckily we’ve gone through the trials and error phase and have dealt with some of the common side effects already so that you can avoid them.

Knowing these common side effects will help you get the best first Kratom experience.

We know what you’re were thinking, “there has to be a downside to Kratom. It can’t just be pure bliss.”

You’re right, there is a downside, but the positive effects trump the negative by A LOT

Listed below are some problems that we’ve experienced while taking Kratom and they are:

The Problems:

Sometimes the Kratom doesn’t work:

Why doesn’t it work?

It could be that the Kratom that we may have got from the vendor is of low quality, or that our tolerance is just way too high to feel anything.

This is an issue that can be fixed.

Low-quality Kratom can be fixed by asking people for their recommendations on forums or other types of Kratom communities.

For tolerance, we will discuss later in the next part.

In rare cases, a person might just be a nonresponder.

A nonresponder is someone who takes Kratom regardless of the amount that they consume, they just never can get the desired effects/aroma.

Feeling Nauseous:

Kratom can make you feel very nauseous especially for beginners.

We notice that some beginners tend to take way more than they need, and, therefore, overdose on Kratom.

The most common side effects are feeling nauseous at first and eventually, you will get really tired and want to sleep. The sleep, however, is very good, and you’ll wake up not feeling groggy.

Can’t digest Kratom!:

There are people who just can’t digest the Kratom and that can cause unbearable stomach pains.

The reason for this?

We believe that it is a side effect of overdosing on Kratom.

It could also be that the person’s body is so new to Kratom that it will require that slowly introduce their body to Kratom.

How would a person introduce their body to Kratom?

The best way is to eat a small meal before taking kratom and start with a small dosage.

Taking too much!:

Overdosing or taking too much Kratom can cause nausea and can cause many unwanted side effects like the ones we’ve just discussed previously.

Through our experience of taking too much, we notice these side effects which are jitters, stuttering with speech, high anxiety, and easily getting angry, stomach pain, nausea, headaches, drowsiness.

We know there are lots of side effects, but they are preventable and are harmless, you will recover very fast.

Feeling A Crash:

There are some people who will feel the awesome good effects of Kratom, but shortly after they will feel really tired.

This happens to us even a year later.

There are days where you will have no crash at all and other days you will.

The more you get used to Kratom, however, reduces the number of crashes. Crashes can also mean you may be taking a bit too much as well.

Notice Decrease In Libido:

Some people who take Kratom in a large dose will feel a decrease in libido.

We know that Kratom is considered an opioid, and that can be a reason for the decrease in libido.

In some cases, people also report increases in Libido.

This is a perfect example of how Kratom works differently for everyone. One benefit regarding libido is that it helps you last a lot longer in bed. Check out Kratom and Libido article.

The problems can be easily solved. The key factors are to have quality kratom, properly rotate Kratom, avoid overdosing, know how to take and introduce Kratom to your body.

If You Can’t Feel The Kratom We Can Fix That By:

The first thing you should do is get high-quality Kratom from a good vendor, and that will most likely solve all of your problems.

A lot of people may be buying their Kratom from smoke shops, and we want to tell you that most smoke shops don’t sell you pure Kratom, their Kratom could be laced with something.

Sometimes it is pure Kratom but will require you to take a large amount just to feel something.

The best way to find a vendor is to join a few Kratom community/forum and ask what vendors others are using, and why they chose it. Here at Kratompedia, we are a resourceful blog and we recommend HappyHippo.

If you aren’t a beginner and have been using kratom for a long time, but find that you’re not getting the quality effects you were once getting, it is most likely that you have skyrocketed your Tolerance.

We recommend people to rotate Kratom. Another option is to go cold turkey for a week then try it again, but this time, implement the Kratom rotation method to avoid ever building a tolerance gain. we discuss all about tolerance in the next Part.

How to Not Feel Nauseous From Kratom:

Nausea from Kratom can be prevented by simply taking the right amount of Kratom that will give you the desired effects such as warmth, happiness, and relaxation. Another reason for Nausea is because of the smell and taste of Kratom.

The best way to eliminate the smell and taste of Kratom completely is to use Kratom capsules made by you, not purchased from smoke shops! Another way is to mix Kratom into a sweet drink such as orange juice.

We prefer Barleans Greens Silk Chocolate because it’s a chocolate vegetable drink and sweet, plus it’s a lot healthier than regular juice.

Beginners are very prone to nausea, it’s simply because their body is not used to Kratom.

To fix this problem, they should have a small meal before taking Kratom such as an apple or yogurt.

The reason why beginners shouldn’t take Kratom on an empty stomach is that the effects will be quite strong, so, in that case, we want to take things slow and get the body familiar to Kratom.

Some people recommend that you take some ginger supplements or chew raw ginger to get rid of nausea from kratom.

We haven’t felt nauseous from Kratom in a long time and haven’t really tried ginger for nausea. It could work very well, and we will most likely try it if we ever get nauseous from Kratom.

Fixing Digestion Problem:

If you’re feeling stomach aches from taking Kratom it is most likely that your body is not used to Kratom, or you may have overdosed. In very rare cases, it could be that your digestive system is weak or allergic to Kratom.

Most likely your body just isn’t used to the Kratom. To fix Kratom digestion issues, you should eat a small meal before taking Kratom.

Take it slow and take 1 gram every 30 minutes until you feel the positive effects of Kratom which is warm feeling from the stomach, back, or cheeks.

Other positive feelings from Kratom can be Happiness, a sense of well-being, and sometimes feeling motivated.

If you’ve already taken Kratom on an empty stomach and feel uneasiness in the stomach, just simply eat some yogurt, and it takes away the stomach ache. It also works very well for nausea too.

We’ve tried yogurt just simply to relieve ourselves from stomachache or nausea and it works wonderfully.

Eat plenty of yogurts daily to build up a good digestive system.

Taking Way Too Much Kratom We Can Fix That Quick:

You’re going to experience all the side effects of Kratom by taking too much Kratom.

Like mentioned above on how to fix nausea and digestive issues. We recommend beginners to take things slow and just work their way up to their sweet spot.

If you have read from our Part II on how to take Kratom. We wrote out a basic guideline for beginners on how to find their sweet spot.

A sweet spot is simply the correct amount of Kratom that is required for a person to feel good on Kratom.

Just to recap from the previous Part of this Beginners Guide to Kratom, the best way to find your sweet spot:

  1. Eat a very small light meal (an apple or yogurt) upon waking up, and drink some water.
  2. Measure out 1 gram of Kratom.
  3. Have a flavorful drink (Orange Juice).
  4. Either Toss and Wash it or mix the Kratom into the drink.
  5. Take it and wait for 15 minutes.
  6. If you don’t feel anything at this moment go ahead and measure about .5 gram or 1 gram and take it.
  7. Repeat the process until you feel something.
  8. If you, however, feel nauseous, take a little break and lay down. Next time decrease the amount.

Do this for every strain of Kratom that you have and never have to suffer side effects again.

Fixing Crashes From Kratom:

This happens to us sometimes too even when we take the correct amount and properly rotate our strains.

It’s something that happens more often when you are new to Kratom or went off Kratom for awhile. Crashes will happen less as you continue to use Kratom.

Crashes mean you feel sleepy. Although sleepiness is a side effect of Kratom it is probably one of the better side effects. You always wake up feeling good.

We find that if you drink more water and stay hydrated, it will prolong the good effects of Kratom and make you less likely to feel any crashes. So drink up plenty of water.

We try to drink at least one gallon of water a day. If that’s too much for you try half a gallon.

Fixing Loss of Libido From Kratom:

Sometimes the issue isn’t because of Kratom. Many factors play into a person’s libido and most of the time it is because of hormonal imbalances, stress, depression, and an unhealthy diet.

If it is from Kratom, all you have to do is go off Kratom for a few days and your libido will come back to normal or even higher.

If you notice any issues present in your life, get it handled as soon as possible by a professional. The easiest way to fix most of your problems can be through proper diet and exercise.

The Kratom side effects are not that bad, and can easily be fixed by some suggestions such as yogurt, quality of your Kratom, and correcting some rookie mistakes such as taking the correct dosages.

The worse side effects we believe that you can get from Kratom is nausea and upset stomach. Usually, these occur when you take too much Kratom.

Both can also be treated by eating some yogurt or taking the correct dosages.

You should also drink plenty of water.

Water not only helps you with the side effects but also keeps you hydrated and is believed to increase the effects of Kratom.

As you can see bad side effects are easily preventable and now you can enjoy the good benefits without worries.

In the next part, we will be talking about Kratom Tolerance and how you can prevent it from happening.

Part V: Kratom Tolerance

Thanks. I’m lying in bed freaking out because all night my tummy has been on a roller coaster. I’m weening off of prescription meds and trying kratom. Was great until I started feeling major pain that I would normally take a med for and just started pinching from my bag of powder…ouch…ginger ale helping now. Finding this site really eased my mind.

Hi guys,I’ve been on a lot of kratom sites and have found yours to be the best so far. I do have a question,I jus started taking choice organic silver powder Malay special reserve. I do enjoy it but don’t know if I’m taking the right dosage. I take about 3-4 grams generally but have adjusted a little because I seem to sweat profusely and become very agitated about 15-20 mins after taking. Could I be taking too much? Oh and I’m taking it to get off methadone.thanks!

I just want to say “Thank You” for this information. I also am new to Kratom. I’m a senior so I truly am simply looking for pain relief. It’s tough getting older especially when you’re a first born, type A personality, tomboy (but all girl for sure). I’ve used horned leaf red so far with no stomach issues at all. Read I needed to rotate, so I’m trying green boreno and my stomach is a mess so your information is of great help to me. I think we need more info like this for us who are new. I will be checking back.Thank you so, so much. Blessings, Kathy
